Second man arrested in August shooting that left two injured

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Lexington Police have arrested a second suspect in connection with an August shooting that left two teenagers injured.

According to investigators, Anazjae Patton was taken into custody Friday and charged with assault. Police say he is one of three people believed to have opened fire during the incident on Chestnut Ridge Drive.

Patton’s arrest follows that of Jaycion Higgins, who was taken into custody earlier this month. Detectives say both shootings in the area were connected, and Patton allegedly sent a text message about the shooting shortly before officers arrived.

Authorities have not released details about Patton’s specific role in the incident, and the investigation remains active. Police are asking anyone with information about the shootings to contact Lexington Police or leave an anonymous tip with Bluegrass Crime Stoppers.
