Second Arson Suspect Arrested

A second arson suspect is behind bars after a house fire in Winchester.

Brandon Guy, 25, was booked in the Clark County Jail on Saturday. He is charged with arson after his mother’s boyfriend was found dead following a house fire last month.

Initial autopsy reports show that the victim, Kenneth Payton, was murdered before the fire was set.

Aaron Spencer, 23, is also in the Clark County Jail charged with arson in the case.

According to the Winchester Sun, during a preliminary hearing last month, investigators revealed that Payton, Spencer, Guy and Pamela Cantor, Guy’s mother and Payton’s live-in girlfriend, were all drinking when there was an argument.

The newspaper reported that investigators said that’s when Payton was assaulted.

Cantor was also arrested on a warrant unrelated to the fire, but has since been released.

Guy is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.

No word if murder charges will be filed in this case.
