Laurel Co. teen missing, 2nd time in 2 weeks

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – For the second time in two weeks, the Laurel County Sheriff says he is looking for a runaway teen who was last seen on Laurel River Road on March 29 at about 11:30 p.m.

16-year old Joshua Sawyers is described as being 5’9″, weighing 150 pounds, with a thin build, light complexion, and blond hair.

The Sheriff says Sawyers ran away earlier this month, on March 20, but was located a day later.

Anyone with information on Sawyers’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (606) 878-6600.

UPDATE: Missing Laurel Co. teen located

The Laurel County Sheriff says that missing 16-year-old, Joshua Sawyers, was found safe early Tuesday morning.

Investigators were searching for Sawyers after he disappeared Monday morning.  At the time, the Sheriff said they believed Sawyers may have been a runaway.

No word on where Sawyers was found.

Search is on for missing teen in Laurel County

The search is on for a Laurel County teenager who investigators say may have run away, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say 16-year old Joshua Sawyers, of London, was last seen at South middle school Monday morning, March 20, 2017.

He is described as 5’9″ tall, 150-pounds, thin build, light complexion, blonde hair above the ear length.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office at 606-864-6600 or 606-878-7000. Information will be strictly confidential, according to authorities.
