Search is on for high-speed pursuit suspect

BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The search is on for a Stanford man accused of leading authorities on a high-speed chase through two counties on Wednesday.

The Boyle County Sheriff’s Office says 22-year old Austin McClure, of Stanford, was speeding and driving recklessly on US 127 around 1:15 a.m.

Investigators say McClure refused to pull over and led deputies on a high-speed chase that reached triple-digit speeds that continued into neighboring Lincoln County.

Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deployed spike strips on Highway 78 in Hustonville, which deflated three of McClure’s tires.

Investigators say after running over the spike strips, the car left the road, went through a fence and into a creek. Deputies say all of McClure’s passengers were located, but that he took off running from the scene and hasn’t been seen since.

Investigators say they believe McClure is in the Stanford area. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact your local law enforcement agency.
