Search on for escaped inmate in Lee Co.

BEATTYVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- State police are looking for an inmate that escaped from a corrections transport van in Lee County Thursday.

Investigators say 39-year-old Jamie Vires escaped from the van around 12:55 p.m. on KY Highway 11 South.

KSP says Vires was in jail serving a sentence for receiving stolen property, burglary, theft by unlawful taking, assault, promoting contraband, and trafficking a controlled substance.

Vires is described as 6’1″, 190 pounds, blue eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with any information about his location is asked to call their local law enforcement.
