Search Continues For Driver Who Crashed Into Lexington Business
One of the owners of the store, Letha Drury, said, "It was almost disbelief, just to see the front of the building totally exposed."
Police said they driver was able to walk away from the scene before being caught.
Drury, said, "I don’t know how he was able to evade, because his car was demolished."
Authorities said they found open alcohol containers and an 8 to 10 week old puppy inside the car.
Animal Care and Control took the puppy. Officials said she appeared to be in good health following the accident.
Crews continued to clean up the piles of broken bricks and glass Monday left from the accident the night before.
The owners said they hoped to have the business running again from the undamaged back of the store by the end of the week.
