Search continues for Clay County shooting suspect

MANCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police continue to search for a Clay County shooting suspect as his victim recovers.

Investigators say 49-year old Jesse Barrett, of Manchester, heard someone trying to break-in to a vacant house next door around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on Portersburg Road.  They say when Barrett went to check it out he confronted a man who shot him and ran into the woods, according to KSP.

Barrett was airlifted to UK Hospital in Lexington.  His condition wasn’t released.

Investigators say the shooter was wearing blue jeans with a black shirt and ski mask.
