Screen Actors Guild Awards rebranded as Actor Awards
LOS ANGELES. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The awards show formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards is officially entering a new era with a new name.
The ceremony will now be known as the Actor Awards, with nominations for this year’s honors set to be announced later today. Organizers have not yet named a host for the event.
The organization has already announced that actor Harrison Ford will receive this year’s Life Achievement Award, recognizing his decades-long career in film and television.
The Actor Awards will stream on Netflix, continuing the platform’s partnership with the show.
This year’s ceremony is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 1.
