Man killed in Scott County head-on crash; texting and impairment suspected

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly crash on Frankfort Road that left one man dead Wednesday night.
Deputies say the crash happened around 7:45 p.m. near the 2400 block of Frankfort Road when an SUV crossed the center line and slammed head-on into a pickup truck.
A man was found with life-threatening injuries and died at the scene despite life-saving efforts from first responders, according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigators believe the driver of the SUV was texting and under the influence at the time of the crash.
The victim’s name has not yet been released, and officials say criminal charges are expected as the investigation continues.
