Scott County family displaced after house fire

SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A Scott County family has lost its home and everything inside after a fire early Sunday morning.

Firefighters say it happened on Mulholland Drive when someone in the home smelled smoke. A neighbor also says they banged on the door until the family got out.

“I was having a panic attack and I was thinking someone inside was going to die. I don’t know, it was just scary, ” says Cheryl Wren.

Firefighters say the man and woman inside got out safely but were lucky because the home had no working smoke detectors. Investigators say the home is a total loss.
