School shooting threat at Pulaski County High School under investigation

The threatening message was found in a boys' bathroom stall on Wednesday

SOMERSET, Ky. (WTVQ) – Students at Pulaski County High School were put on ‘hold-in-place’ Wednesday after a message was left by a student in a boys’ bathroom stall that said, “school shooting at 12:45 p.m,” according to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.

Numerous students reported the threatening message to school officials.

The school resource officer and sheriff’s office responded and began an investigation.

Deputies say they looked at security camera video and interviewed students.  So far, they say they don’t know who’s responsible for the threat, but say they are narrowing it down.

Hold-in-place is different from a lock down.  During hold-in-place, all school activities continue but movement is limited and the cafeteria schedule is adjusted so students can get food and take it back to the classroom, according to authorities.

Deputies say there was an identical threat Tuesday at Southwestern High School in the county.  That threat was unfounded.
