School bus route delays and cancellations continue in Fayette County

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Due to an ongoing bus driver and bus monitor shortage, Fayette County Public Schools bus routes continue to be cancelled and delayed.

On Tuesday, there were ten afternoon routes delayed which followed eight route cancellations in the morning, according to the school district’s website.

Since the start of the school year on Aug. 11, the district has been forced to cancel routes four times.

The Tuesday afternoon route delays included the following routes:

PM Bus  314  Deep Springs  Douglass/CGW

PM Bus  117  Yates  Bryan Station High  Winburn

PM Bus  316 Breckinridge  Douglass/CGW  Edythe J Hayes

PM Bus  24   STEAM  Henry Clay  Morton

PM Bus  109  Veterans Park  Tates Creek High  Tates Creek Middle

PM Bus  306  Sandersville   LTMS

PM Bus   883 Southern Elementary Tates Creek High

PM Bus   974 TLC

PM Bus   22  Leestown

If a morning bus route is cancelled, it is cancelled for that morning only. If an afternoon bus route is delayed, the district says transportation will be available at 4:45 p.m. after other routes are completed and additional drivers are available. Families can choose to find a different way home for their children in the interim.
