School Board Member Reveals Possible FBI Investigation

A Scott County School Board member broke the news of a possible FBI investigation of the district yesterday.

During a public school board meeting, board member Haley Conway announced that he’s been interviewed by the FBI concerning construction practices in the district.

The announcement came after a discussion with the school district’s Director of Facilities, Mike Luscher, about why the same firms are repeatedly hired for architectural and construction contracts throughout Scott County.

Luscher said that every step of construction is approved by the Kentucky Department of Education.

The revelation comes at an already controversial time. The Kentucky Office of Education Accountability has been interviewing administrators, board members and site-based council members about a 15% raise given to Superintendent Patricia Putty, among other issues.
