Scholarship created in honor of Catholic priest following his sudden death
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Lexington Catholic High School has created a scholarship fund in honor of a Lexington priest who passed away earlier this year.
Father Norman Fischer died unexpectedly on July 15th, weeks before his 51st birthday.
He was the pastor at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and the chaplain at Lexington Catholic High School.
The scholarship fund was created to help support students in need. Father Norman’s sister hopes it will serve as a reminder.
“The different scholarship opportunities in Father Norman’s name will be a reminder that this is what we are all called to do,” Maria Fischer-Boothe said. “We can recognize that our faith tells us, that we are all one.”
