Sayre Christian Village encourages pen pals for senior residents

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – COVID-19 has made for a lonely experience for some in our older community. To help, Sayre Christian Village is now asking for pen pals for its residents.

According to the post on Facebook, “The reduction of loneliness is one of the reasons that older adults love a community atmosphere like Friendship Towers Assisted & Independent Living.”

The post includes pictures of residents with the caption reading in part, “Can you write them a card and remind them how special THEY are?” It adds, “They would love a pen pal! They are so unique and special in their own ways and we can’t wait for you to learn more about them.”
