Save-A-Lot and ABC 36 gather 500 Thanksgiving meal kits
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- On Thursday Save-A-Lot delivered 255 bags of food to the Lexington Rescue Mission.
ABC 36 has 270 bags at the station awaiting delivery.
Save-A-Lot and ABC 36 partnered this year to give Thanksgiving meals to the Lexington Rescue Mission.
For about a month ABC 36 set up boxes in all four Lexington Save-A-Lot locations
For every $5.00 donation, Save-A-Lot prepared a bag that included a box of spaghetti, a can of spaghetti sauce, two cans of corn, two cans of green beans, and one package of peanut butter or cheese crackers.
Lexington Rescue Mission offers food, lodging clothing, financial assistance, bible studies, and chapel services for those in need.
