Santa brings Christmas early to Foster Care Council

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Some children in Lexington received an early Christmas surprise from Santa this weekend.

The Foster Care Council shared a message on social media Sunday, saying in part, “The 2020 version of our Christmas Spectacular is underway!! Santa has made his list and is checking it twice!!”

According to organizers, 75 children were signed up to see Santa and received their gifts. Each child asked for specific items which were relayed to Santa.

The post sent on to say, “His “elves” are busy helping him make these kiddos Christmas wishes come true!”

Several volunteers were pictured as part of the event. Lexington businesses donated toys and clothes to make the event possible.

Toys for Tots also donated items for children to pick from like duffel bags, coats and gloves, pajamas and a bags of treats to take home.
The council shared several pictures of children opening presents which included plenty of toys, cold weather clothing and educational games.

The Foster Care Council provides funding for individualized tutoring, clothing, summer camps, and enrichment activities to Kentucky’s foster children that have been removed from their homes due to neglect, abuse or abandonment.
