Samsung Halts Galaxy Note 7 sales and replacements

(WTVQ/CNN) – Samsung is asking customers with the Galaxy Note 7  to power down and stop using the phone.

Last month, the company issued a recall for the smart phone because it could catch fire. Customers were given replacements, but now there are reports that those phones are also catching fire.

Samsung says there is a battery problem found in only a fraction of the phones in use.

As a precaution — Samsung says it will stop all sales and replacements of the Galaxy Note 7 and have asked all carriers to do the same.

Customers are eligible for a refund.
