Salvation Army Opening New Store in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Salvation Army is scheduled to open a new store in Lexington in December.

The Salvation Army says the store is designed to improve the shopping experience for its customers. It includes 13,000 square feet of shopping space that will be stocked with bargain-priced clothing, household items, electronics, books, toys, furniture and collectibles.

The Salvation Army says the new store will mean 20 new jobs for Lexington.

Revenue from the Family Store will be used to help support the Salvation Army’s rehabilitation center, which offers services free of charge for people who are struggling with drugs, alcohol and other life issues.

Vouchers for free furniture or clothing are available for families in need through Salvation Army programs.

Tax receipts will be provided for any donations receiving during store hours, Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Donations can be dropped-off in bins in the parking lot after hours.

The new store is scheduled to open on December 15, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.

It will be located at 2285 Versailles Road.
