Salvation Army “Kettle Campaign” Starts Friday

The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle campaign begins Friday, November eighth.

This year’s goal is $485,000. The campaign lasts until December 24th. You’ll see the traditional kettles outside stores. Plus, you can give to the online kettle. The Salvation Army says an anonymous donor has agreed to match online donations up to $50,000. Major Steven Ashcraft says with fewer people carrying cash, an online alternative is a natural.

The Salvation Army has seen a 25 percent increase in people needing help in Fayette, Jessamine, and Scott Counties.
