Salvation Army gives Boys & Girls Club fun-filled day, school supplies

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Salvation Army of Lexington held a school supply giveaway for children in the Boys & Girls Club of the Bluegrass on Tuesday.

The Salvation Army teamed up with Fazoli’s and Feed the Children to treat children to school supplies, lunch and fun-filled activities complete with superheroes.

According to Feed the Children, in 2018, they provided 75.8 million pounds of food and essentials to families in the United States.

The Salvation Army will also host their Stuff the Bus event Saturday, August 3. Walmart is collaborating with The Salvation Army of Lexington to gather school supplies for children housed in local shelters and children in the Boys & Girls Club.

You can donate to the event by purchasing school supplies on August 3 between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the Walmart location on Nicholasville Road or buy purchasing items from the online Walmart registry HERE.
