Russell County traffic stop leads to drug arrest
RUSSELL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Trooper pulls over man during routine traffic stop and finds drugs in the car.
A trooper on patrol on the Louie B. Nunn Parkway in Russel County saw a 2013 Dodge Ram speeding and performed a traffic stop at 6:48 AM (CST).
41 year-old Ruben Rodriguez of Somerset was behind the wheel.
For reasons undisclosed, Rodriguez gave consent for the trooper and assisting troopers to search his vehicle where a black box in the dash containing meth was found.
Rodriguez was arrested and charged with speeding (20 mph over the limit), failure to wear a seatbelt, operating on a suspended or revoked license, possession of a controlled substance (meth), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
