Rubicon Global raises $30M in latest round of financing
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — A Lexington-based waste and recycling company says it has raised $30 million in its latest round of financing.
Rubicon Global helps companies figure out how to best dispose of their waste in a way that hopefully saves money and is better for the environment. The company was founded in 2008 by Kentucky native Nate Morris.
The company said its investors include several prominent Kentuckians, including Forbes 400 billionaire Brad Kelley, Outback Steakhouse founder Chris Sullivan, former U.S. Senate candidate Bruce Lunsford and Bill Gatton, an entrepreneur and namesake of the University of Kentucky’s College of Business & Economics.
Morris was recently featured in Fortune magazine’s 40-under-40 list along with Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook and Travis Kalanick of Uber.
