Rowan County Schools mourning the loss of student

MOREHEAD, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Rowan County Senior High School is mourning the loss of one of its students. School officials say sophomore Lexi Leadingham passed away early Tuesday morning.

In a message to families, Principal Lori Staggs described Lexi as a student known for her bright smile, warm hugs, and the joy she brought to everyone around her. Staggs said her sudden passing has deeply affected both classmates and staff.

The school says additional counselors and support staff are available to help students and faculty process their grief during this difficult time.
