“Rolling ball of butcher knives.”

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The first live action scrimmage for the football cats was back on Saturday.

Number two is slated for this weekend.

Offensively, the Cats were a bit of everything…good, bad and ugly.  That was offensive coordinator Eddie Gran’s take.

Defensively, with limited action last Saturday in full contact, they don’t know who can tackle.

What were they able to glean from the scrimmage?

New UK linebacker coach Matt White likes what he’s seeing overall at the position.  There’s some inconsistency across the board though.

The biggest adjustment?  For White as a coach it’s coming down to college from the NFL.

The pace of play is a whole new level of speed.

Coach House labeled Phil Hoskins on the defensive line as a disruptive player who could really contribute to the Cats moving forward.

What did position coach Derrick LeBlanc have to add to that description?

Hear from House, White and LeBlanc in the video.
