Rockfall closes KY 3056 in Maysville

MAYSVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A rockfall has temporarily closed KY 3056 just east of Jersey Ridge at Maysville in Mason County.

The Department of Highways says that for traffic safety, the highway will remain closed until further notice between mile markers 6.5 and 7 — about two tenths of a mile east of the Jersey Ridge Road intersection — while crews clean up debris and evaluate the area for additional rock fall potential. Duration is unknown at this time.

Motorists may detour using KY 8 and US 68, or other routes. If you normally use KY 3056 from downtown Maysville to access Ashwood Drive, Winton Woods Drive, Vernon Street, etc., you will need to detour.

Due to the potential of continuing rockfall, motorists are asked not to drive around or move barricades.
