Robbery suspect leaves empty handed after clerk hides

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – One robber didn’t get what he was looking for at a Lexington hotel.

Police say a man wearing a mask walked into the Extended Stay on Richmond Road just after 1 a.m. pulled a gun and demanded money.

Instead of handing over the cash, the clerk ran into a back office and locked the door.

Police say the robber left empty handed.
