Robbery at Lexington auto parts store

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say two men got away after a robbery at Blue Grass Auto parts just before 10:00 am on Thursday.

Officers say the men entered the store on East 7th Street with hats covering their faces, and carrying a handgun.  The men demanded, and were given, money from the cashiers, according to police.

Investigators say the men then took off on foot toward Chestnut Street with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officers say they tracked the men with K-9 units, but were not able to find them.

According to police, there is surveillance footage of the robbery, but it is not being released at this time.

The robbery remains under investigation.
