Roads reopen after fatal crash in Whitley Co. near Whitley East Elementary School

As of 2:15 p.m., the road has reopened, according to an update from the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department.

A fatal crash in Whitley County on Tuesday morning has closed a road near Whitley East Elementary School for an investigation.

The crash between two vehicles happened around 10 a.m. on Kentucky Highway 92 East in Williamsburg.

One vehicle was described as a “commercial vehicle” by the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department.

Kentucky State Police are on the scene investigating the crash circumstances.

At this time, it’s unclear how long the road will be closed.

Deputies are advising drivers to use alternate routes, like Kentucky Highway 11 to U.S. 25 East in Barbourville.

No information about the circumstances of the crash was available as of publishing time.
