Road work to cause New Circle, Yarnallton Pike delays next week
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises road work is scheduled on two busy Fayette County roads next week, meaning traffic delays for motorists as summer driving begins to pick up.
Crews will be milling and paving for New Circle Road/KY 4. Temporary closures will be necessary for the work to be completed safely. The schedule includes:
Monday, June 15 through Thursday evening, June 18/Friday morning, June 19 – 10 p.m. each evening until 4 a.m. the following morning
New Circle Road/KY 4 – Inner Loop
- the On and Off Ramps will be closed at the Winchester Road/US 60 Interchange between milepoints 12.719 and 12.734
Also, cross drain and entrance pipe installations are planned for sections of South Yarnallton Pike/KY 1977. Portions of the route will be temporarily closed for the work to be completed. That schedule includes:

Monday, June 15 – 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.
- a closure will be in effect between Old Frankfort Pike/KY 1681 (milepoint 0.00) and Leestown Road/US 421 (milepoint 1.669)
Tuesday, June 16 – 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Wednesday, June 17 – 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.
- a closure will be in effect between Leestown Road/US 421 (milepoint 1.669) and Spurr Road (milepoint 2.664)
Local residents/traffic will be able to access their homes, and farms during the work. Motorists who are not local residents should plan to use alternate routes.
