UPDATE: Fatal crash scene cleared in Bourbon County

BOURBON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The scene of a fatal accident in Bourbon County has been cleared.
According to the Bourbon County Sheriff’s Department, crews have left the scene where around 2:34 p.m. an older gentleman lost control of the garbage truck he was driving and hit a tree.

BOURBON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A garbage truck crash on a rural Bourbon County road leaves one person dead.
According to the Bourbon County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened at about 2:30 p.m. on Russell Cave Road, which also is KY 353, near the Hawkins-Cummins Road intersection between Centerville and Broadwell.
Deputies said the driver of the garbage truck lost control of the truck, apparently over-corrected and hit a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck was northbound on Russell Cave when the accident happened.
The road remained closed as of 5 p.m.
