Richmond PD: Woman at library with kids found unresponsive, on heroin
RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police in Richmond have arrested a woman they say passed out at the Public Library with two children after taking heroin.
Officers say on Saturday, 31-year-old Lavada Jones had taken Oxycodone prior to arriving at the the library with children. Later, she was found unresponsive in the bathroom, and officers say the children saw a wrapper with a brown powdery substance in the toilet.
Police say further investigation revealed that the substance was heroin, and that Jones admitted to taking it.
Lavada was arrested on charges of wanton endangerment and public intoxication, and taken to the Madison Co. Detention Center.
