Richmond PD: Hidden Guns Found After Traffic Stop
Richmond police said a traffic stop led to an arrest and gun seizure.
Officers charged William Bruce Cope, 47, Richmond, with several weapons offenses.
On Monday, police released details on the case.
They said Cope was pulled over last Friday for an expired license plate.
Police said the truck wasn’t insured, and Cope had not transferred ownership of the vehicle into his name after buying it from a dealership.
When authorities went to impound the vehicle, they said an officer found a loaded rifle, loaded shotgun, and a loaded handgun inside the truck.
According to investigators, Cope was a convicted felon and was not allowed to have the weapons.
He was arrested and booked at the Madison County Detention Center.
