Richmond gets into the Christmas spirit

RICHMOND, KY. (WTVQ)- Richmond, Kentucky is getting into the Christmas spirit with decorations, events and more.

The Daniel Boone Christmas takes you back to Christmas in 1775 when Daniel Boone has settled Kentucky. At Boonesborugh State Park you get toexperience what Christmas would’ve been like during Daniel Boone’s time. It’s a great family affair, and a wonderful site to see the park lit by candlelight.

Laurie Tatum from Richmond Tourism said, “You don’t have to drive to Asheville to see a beautiful house decorated for Christmas.” You can come see a Victorian Christmas at White Hall State Historic Site, which is on the same exit as Fort Boonesborough. The Victorian house is a beautiful three story home that is decked out for Christmas and will have a special guest, Mrs. Claus.

Historic downtown Richmond also has plenty of gorgeous boutiques and specialty shops like Twine, Adorabelles, Currier’s Music World, Mike’s Hike and Bike, John Leeds Jewelry and more. There are lots of unique presents in case you’re looking for something special for the holidays. Plus, there are some local restaurants like Local Eats.

Lori Murphy-T.:                 We do. That is one thing that I think makes Richmond unique is we have so many awesome boutiques. Just for this past Shop Small Saturday, we had a boutique bingo card, and there was 14 or 15 different boutiques to go to. We have so many wonderful shops, and we’re thinking about even planning something fun for this spring, and doing a boutique week, like Lexington does their burger week.
