Ribbon cutting held for Juniper Hill Aquatic Center

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – On Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. the Frankfort and Franklin County community celebrated the Juniper Hill Family Aquatic Center with a ribbon cutting and dedication of the facility.

Although the facility was unofficially opened during the Fourth of July weekend in 2015 all of the facilities components were not yet completed including the three recreational slides.

In front of a crowd of community supporters, past and present City Commissioners and County Magistrates and the Parks Board, Jim Parrish, Frankfort Parks, Recreation and Historic Sites Director thanked everyone for their support and congratulated the group on providing a wonderful facility for the citizens of Frankfort and Franklin County.  “It’s not just servicing our county, but it’s really being used regionally,” Parrish stated.

The facility, which is open seven days a week, draws approximately 1,000 guests per day to enjoy the three slides, lazy river, lap pool with a rock climbing wall, children’s pool and spray-ground.
