RFD: One displaced after apartment fire in downtown Richmond

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – According to the Richmond Fire Department, one person has been displaced after his apartment caught fire around 4:00 a.m. Friday morning.

The Fire Chief told ABC 36 the apartment was located on the third floor and above Weaver Insurance Agency on North Second Street.

Crews were able to put out the fire quickly.

ABC 36 was told there is smoke and water damage in the building and that it will be closed for an unspecified time.

According to the Fire Chief, businesses adjacent to the building have smoke damage as a result of the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation
