Reward offered in KSP fire investigations
RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – State police are offering a reward for information leading to an arrest in their investigation of six fires in Owsley, Lee, and Jackson counties.
Troopers say the fires occurred between January 1, 2016 and March 6, 2016. The first two fires happened at a private campground located on Shoemaker Ridge Road in Lee County on January 1, where a camper trailer and a wooden structure were destroyed.
The third fire destroyed another camper trailer at the same location on January 9.
On February 10, 2016, another investigation began when a home on Left Fork Cow Creek Road in Owsley Co. was destroyed by a fire.
During the evening hours of February 18, a residence at the intersection of HWY 2004 and Chestnut Flat Road in Jackson County was destroyed by a fire.
The most recent fire occurred on Shoemaker Ridge Road in Lee County on March 6, completely destroying another camper trailer, and may be connected to the initial fires on January 1st and 9th.
Anyone with information on any of the fires is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police, Post 7 at 859-623-2404 or the Arson Task Force at 1-800-27ARSON (1-800-272-7766). The Arson Task Force is offering up to a $1000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for starting any of the fires.
