Residents in Louisa approve alcohol sales

LOUISA, Ky. (AP) — Residents in the small eastern Kentucky city of Louisa have approved alcohol sales.

The Independent (http://bit.ly/1GsvyCN) cited the Lawrence County Clerk’s office in reporting the final vote tally of 384-218. The referendum question asked voters whether they favored the sale of alcoholic beverages in the city.

The vote comes as several other small cities around the state have considered similar referendums.
