Report: Two attorneys quit case involving accused killer

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two attorneys have withdrawn from the case against a Williamsburg woman accused of killing her husband and two children.

That’s according to the Times-Tribune newspaper.

The newspaper says 43-year-old Courtney Taylor appeared in Whitley Circuit Court for a pretrial conference Thursday, where two of her attorneys, Ron Findell and George Sornberger, entered motions to withdraw themselves from the case.

Findell explained he is withdrawing because he is retiring.

Sornberger offered no reason for withdrawing, according to the Times-Tribune.

Two new attorneys are being added to the defense team and a special prosecutor is being appointed.

Taylor faces three counts of murder for allegedly shooting her husband and two children in their beds in 2017.

When deputies arrived at the scene, Taylor allegedly aimed a firearm at them and was shot twice.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for February 2019.
