Repeat drug offender, parole violator arrested in Danville
DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Boyle Co. Sheriff says a fugitive with outstanding warrants was arrested outside of the Danville Walmart on Wednesday.
According to the Sheriff, deputies saw 31-year-old Orlando Simpson, who has a warrant for parole violation as well as an indictment for trafficking heroin out of Boyle Co., standing outside of the store. He was taken into custody without incident.
Deputies say that further investigation brought them to a Quality Inn Hotel room. While there, investigators say they found heroin, crystal methamphetamine, and a loaded handgun.
Simpson was taken to the Boyle Co. Detention Center. Along with his active warrants, he has been additionally charged with trafficking, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, among other charges.
Simpson is currently on parole for a 2015 drug trafficking case, according to the Sheriff.
