There is about 70 days left before the November presidential election, and on Monday, GOP Vice Presidential Nominee Senator JD Vance made a stop in the horse capital of the world, Lexington.

“JD Vance stands for creating a better future for all Kentuckians, for all Americans, and he is the embodiment of the American dream that should be celebrated, not denigrated,” said Rep. Andy Barr, who has a strong friendship with Vance.

Barr with a strong endorsement for the Trump-Vance ticket at the event, organized by Joe and Kelly Craft.

“This is an effort to raise funds to make sure that JD Vance and Donald Trump have the resources to communicate,” he added.

Representative Barr, a very good friend of JD Vance speaking highly on what the vice presidential candidate with Kentucky ties, could bring to the table as candidate.

“He supports an agenda that will get this country back on track,” he added.

Recently, Vance made headlines for his back and forth with Andy Beshear during the time Beshear the Democratic Governor was being vetted as a potential running mate for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Beshear blasted Vance after the Ohio senator offered a critical view of parts of Kentucky in his 2016 memoir “hillbilly elegy.”

“It’s kind of silly to suggest that JD Vance doesn’t understand Kentucky when he spent the bulk of his childhood with his grandmother, in Eastern Kentucky, his family is from Eastern Kentucky. He knows the struggles and the challenges, and it’s disappointing that we would have a governor of the Commonwealth Kentucky who doesn’t understand that people in Eastern Kentucky have struggles,” said Barr

While the governor stressed that JD Vance did not not understand Kentuckians because he was quote “not from here,” his longtime friend representative Barr added Vance’s family is from Breathitt County.

“As vice president, JD Vance will be a tireless advocate for the people of Kentucky and this nation because he has that Eastern Kentucky, Appalachian grit,” also said Barr.

Barr was asked if he believed the Trump ticket could win, to which he answered, “the people of Kentucky will be able to hear the message of JD Vance. That message of the American dream, the message of hard work, and the message of freedom and limited government that the people of Kentucky share and believe in with JD Vance.”

Originally the event was going to be held in Pikeville but was moved to Lexington, Barr says it was because they needed a central location that would make it easy for Vance to get in and out of airports.
The event was closed to media.
