Rep. Andy Barr: Nicholas County to receive $1.7 million for EMS Facility
Carlisle, Ky. (WTVQ) – A new EMS facility is on tap in Nicholas County, thanks to federal funding secured by 6th District Congressman Andy Barr.
Barr made the announcement today (3/27) at a news conference in Carlisle, where the new facility will be built.
The money, going to the Nicholas County Fiscal Court, comes from the Community Project Funding Process, according to Barr’s office.
In a statement, Barr said, “The men and women of the Nicholas County Emergency Medical Services Department do extraordinary work serving and protecting the community. This state-of-the-art facility will allow the county to recruit and retain talented EMS employees and help further their mission to make Nicholas County safer. I am proud to return Nicholas Countians’ hard-earned tax dollars back to their community.”
The building will replace the current facility, which was extensively damaged in a 2021 flood.
