Remembering women’s lives lost to police brutality
To honor and remember the women they say have been killed by police brutality, a group called Stop Mass Incarceration Network KY held a moment of silence.
Thursday’s vigil in Lexington was part of a national day of solidarity.
Organizers say men who have been killed by police have dominated headlines but they say the lives of women, children and transgender that have been taken by police brutality need to be remembered too.
15 names were read at the vigil, organizers say none of them were from the Lexington area. The event was followed by a moment of silence then a discussion.
