Remembering John Mackey

A broken-hearted Nicholasville is coming together to remember a paramedic who died Monday from injuries after a tragic accident last week.

John Mackey was known as a man who was always giving and how his community is giving back to him.

The manager of Raising Cane’s in Nicholasville says Mackey was a regular so when the manager heard one of his customers was hurt, he wanted to do anything he could to help.

“He helped people on a day-to-day basis and a lot of his job probably went un-thanked so that’s something we definitely want to try to do,” said Brian Murrell, general manager of Raising Cane’s.

Monday, November 16th the restaurant is donating 15% of all sales to the Mackey family.
The fundraiser will last the entire day.
