Remembering basketball great Ed Davender

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky basketball legend Ed Davender was laid to rest Thursday.

Davender, 49, died last week after suffering a massive heart attack.

He played for the Wildcats from 1984-1988.

Davender finished his career ranked 11th on the all-time scorer’s list. He’s the only Wildcat to score more than 1,600 points and have more than 400 assists. A heart murmur kept him from going pro.
