Reforest the Bluegrass 2017
John Saylor sits down with Meteorologist Eric Burke to talk about the upcoming Reforest the Bluegrass event, happening on Saturday, April 15.
The city has been inviting the public out each spring to help plant trees since 1999. It’s a great volunteer opportunity for all ages, and it’s a way for the city to partner with interested residents in expanding the city’s urban forest.
Those interested in volunteering are advised to come dressed for the weather. Organizers will provide everything else needed to participate, along with lunch and a t-shirt.
Participants are encouraged to pre-register at LexingtonKY.gov/Reforest, but people can drop-in unannounced. With 7,000 trees to get in the ground, the more the merrier!
The 2017 Reforest the Bluegrass event will be held from 9:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. at Hisle Farm Park, located at 3601 Briar Hill Road in Lexington.
