Reed Sheppard assigned to Rockets G League team
HOUSTON, Tx. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The Houston Rockets assigned Reed Sheppard to their NBA G League affiliate the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Monday.
The rookie’s minutes have dwindled the last few weeks. On December 27th, Sheppard played just four minutes against the Timberwolves, all in garbage time. In the next four games, Sheppard played a total of just five minutes.
Sheppard is averaging 3.3 points per game, 1.2 assists per game, and shooting 27.9% from behind the 3-point line. On the season, he is averaging about 11 minutes per game.
The Rockets feel that Sheppard playing every night in the G League will help his development in on-ball skills.
