Salvation Army to kick off Red Kettle and Angel Tree season
FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Salvation Army is marking the start of the Christmas season with an event highlighting its work to fight hunger, homelessness and need across Kentucky.
The organization will host the Kentucky Red Kettle and Angel Tree Kickoff on Thursday, November 20, at the Kentucky Capitol Education Center. Governor Andy Beshear, First Lady Britainy Beshear, Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman and other state leaders are scheduled to attend.
Officials say the event begins at 10 a.m. and helps launch the Red Kettle and Angel Tree programs, which provide toys and gifts to children and seniors in need across the Commonwealth.
According to organizers, Governor Beshear will make the first donation to this year’s Red Kettle and will sign a proclamation declaring December 2025 as “Salvation Army Give With Joy Month.” Description:
