Recanvass expected in city commission race

TRENTON, Ky. (AP) — A recanvass is expected in a western Kentucky election after two candidates for City Commission ended up with the same number of votes.

The Kentucky New Era (http://bit.ly/10rS8LG) reports five people ran for the four seats available on the Trenton City Commission and the bottom vote-getters ended up tied at 82 each.

Todd County Clerk Kim Chapman said on Wednesday that a recanvass would be done by Nov. 12. She said if both candidates still had the same number of votes, the winner could be chosen by drawing lots or flipping a coin.
