Rare moped stolen on Father’s Day, family asking for help getting it back

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Georgetown family is asking people to be on the lookout for a special Father’s Day gift, stolen from a porch Monday night.

Scott County siblings say they searched for a rare moped that was the same year, model and color their father had back in the 80’s.

The pair found one in Ohio and say they got it running, painted it and surprised their father with it on Father’s Day.

They say it disappeared from the porch of his home on Hamilton Street in Georgetown the next night.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is sharing the sibling’s Facebook posts, asking for the public’s help in locating the moped.

The siblings say because the moped is rare, it won’t be hard to recognize even if it’s repainted.
